WHAT COVERAGE IS AVAILABLE FOR MOTORCYCLISTS? Riding a motorcycle is considered a higher
risk activity than driving a car. The
main difference being that driving a car risks injuring another party or
damaging their property, as opposed to driving a motorcycle which causes
a greater risk to ones personal safety and is less likely to injure
another party. Motorcycle insurance coverage varies by State.
Due to the fact that a number of States make finding motorcycle
insurance coverage difficult, it is beneficial to work with a company
that will customize a Policy to your needs. COLLISION COVERAGE:
Regardless of who is at fault, this covers your motorcycle
against damage caused by an accident.
Damage up to the actual cash value of the motorcycle, less any
applicable deductible, will be paid. COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE:
This covers damage caused by fire, storms, theft or vandalism.
You (the Policy Holder) will be paid up to the actual cash value
of the motorcycle less any applicable deductible. GUEST PASSENGER LIABILITY COVERAGE: You (the Policy
Holder) are protected by claims of damage from passengers when, and if,
you are at fault. LIABILITY COVERAGE:
This protects you from claims of damage caused by bodily injury
to other parties, and/or property damage.
Basically, if you are responsible for the accident the Insurance
Company will award damages to the person suffering the loss. LIMITS OF LIABILITY:
For bodily injury or property damage, limits are commonly known
as 25/50/10. The 25
refers to $25,000.00 which is the maximum pay-out for injuries per
person. The 50 refers to $50,000.00 which is the maximum
pay-out per accident. And,
the 10 refers to the $10,000.00 that the Insurance Company will
pay-out for property damage. MEDICAL PAYMENTS COVERAGE:
Regardless of who is at fault, this covers the medical expenses
resulting from an accident of both the Driver, and the Passenger (if
there is one). TOWING AND ROAD SERVICE COVERAGE: This covers the costs associated with on-site repairs (flat
tire or dead battery) and/or towing should the motorcycle become
disabled. E-Mail Us At: cs@WindsorInsuranceServices.com
